Yes, we are in LA

We have been HUGE slack asses, our apologies.  Things got a little crazy.  Here's the recap:

After San Diego we spent a couple days on the coast, staying in Del Mar and Newport in some fabulous Marriotts (thanks Priceline!).  We hit the beach, lounged by the pool, and saw how the left coast rich and fabulous spend their summers.

We ate at Las Brices, one of my dad's all time favorite restaurants, in Laguna Beach.  The view is gorgeous and the food was delish.  It looked like Hawaii.

The next day we hit up LA proper, meeting our friend Monique (who graciously let us stay with her until we found a place) and had an awesome Greek dinner to initiate us into the LA dining scene.  We spent the next few days scoping out where we wanted to live and checking out apartments.  We felt at home as soon as we hit Silver Lake, the hipster Mecca of the area.

Within a few days, we found a little 2-bedroom apartment with a nice small front yard that was dog friendly and walkable to Sunset bars and shops and we were sold.  Here are some pics, it is a mess.

I told my sister that it was dog friendly and she set to work finding us pooches.  Within an hour I had four emails with about 10 links to dogs in each email.  I looked through, and Jeff avoided looking through so as not to get sad.  I accidentally left up pics of the 2 most perfect pooches and Jeff happened to see them.  Whoops.

We went the next day to the shelter to meet these guys.  Sparx rolled over for us to pet her belly, and Winnie crawled into my lap.  We were sold.  Unfortunately, we were not in our new place and we didn't want to risk someone else adopting these perfect pooches.  We adopted them on a Friday and put them up at the Hounds Lounge for the weekend for some R&R.  Monday they came home and have been awesome ever since.  House trained, well behaved, really good pooches.  Who also happened to have Kennel Cough, Vaginosis, and Ear Infections.  $300 in vet bills later, they are feeling super.

The new apartment is coming along.  We got rid of most of our furniture before moving so we're slowly starting to rebuild while trying to avoid going broke.

We met up with Mil and Doreen a bunch in the last week since they were here to visit family and friends.  They invited us a couple of times up to Thousand Oaks to Doreen's parent's house which was incredible.  They fed us amazing food, and we drank wine by their pool while chatting with their fun family.  It reminded me a lot of being home, it was nice.

This past weekend found us at Sunset Junction, a street fair with bands, rides, and mean margaritas.  We could walk from our house which was awesome.  We spent yesterday at the dog park, celebrating a new friend's dog's 3rd birthday.  Sparx enjoyed chasing around any dog that was running, and Winnie finally got into the playful mood after trying to escape to the car a few times.  The dogs are both still exhausted and so are we.

Miss you, and and will try to keep up better with updates, unless you're into the once a month blog.
